A fourth batch of 24 remains of human trafficking victims, believed to be persecuted Rohingya from Myanmar, found in Bukit Wang Burma, Wang Kelian, was buried at the Kampung Tualang cemetery today.

The victims, all men, were buried en mass in a grave. The burial, which started at 12.30 am, ended at about 3 am.

Kedah Islamic Religious Department (JAIK) director Datuk Noh Dahya said today’s burial brought to 99 out of the 106 remains of human trafficking victims found in Wang Kelian.

The first burial, involving the remains of 21 victims, was conducted last June 21, followed by 30 remains on June 29 and the remains of another 24 victims two days ago.

Noh said the remains of seven other victims would be buried after Aidilfitri, which would then be followed by the tahlil ceremony.
