BGP Uses Abusive Tools In Extracting Rohingya’s Money

Buthidaung: Border Guard Police (BGP) physically abused and tortured Rohingyas in their illegal Arrest and extracted mass money over releasing in villages of Buthidaung Townships, explains locals.

A second Colonel of Border Guard Police (BGP) named U Thein Sein from the camp of Yaung Chaung entered the market of  Sein Yin Pya village track of southern Buthidaung and abused a Rohingya physically by heavily punching and kicking using his heavy boots on 12th December. The victim was a Rohingya tea seller named to be Ali Hussain S/O Nabi Hussain, 33.

In another similar incidence in quarter 5 of Mingisi (Myi Gaung Sey) village track of Northern Buthidaung a Rohingya youth named Atiqur Rahman S/O Mujjaffar, 25 was arrested by sectarian officer of 9th BGP camp who arrived with 2 village administrator officer and a temporary village head named Hamid Hussain S/O Naji Hussain.

According to locals’ statements he was arrested because of the instigation by the village admins whom are sycophants. They falsely accused Atiq of being connected Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA). Later he was physically tortured inhumanely and BGP extorted 350, 0000 Kyats over his release on 8th December 2017.

BGP’s arrests and inhumane torture for extracting mass money have accelerated all over northern Arakan (rakhine) state and remaining Rohingyas are at the edge of extinction from their own ancestral land.
