BGP and Military Join Raid: 32 Innocent Rohingys Detained in Northern Buthidaung

By RVision TV Correspondent

19th July, 2017

Buthidaung- Border Guard Police (BGP) and military conducted a join raid and detained 32 innocent Rohingya men in Taung Bazar, northern Buthidaung, Arakan State, according to our reliable source.

Some BGP from the camp of Sector-9 along with military deployed for regional security jointly raided at Ward-1, Maung Nama village, Nga Rang Chaung village tract in Taung Bazar. The raid was took place at night on Monday, July 17.

During the raid, the Burmese security forces besieged the village and arbitrarily arrested 32 guiltless Rohingyas, choosing the strong and educated youths as well as the heads of the village.

The arrestees were brought and detained in BGP camp from where some were reportedly sent to the detention center of Buthidaung town for further persecutions.

One of the terrified villagers shakily said, “On-a-sudden, BGP and military besieged our village and started arresting the youths and the heads without any reason at night on 27, July. But we haven’t got the identification of all arrestees yet as none is allowed to meet them in the lock-up of Sector-9, BGP camp.”

In the same way, Burmese security forces have been arresting innocent Rohingya civilians across Arakan since October 9, 2016 on the false accusation of having link with the rebellious Rohingya group. Of the arrestees, some are being killed in the detention centers while some are being imprisoned unjustly without any trail which is the main cause of malnutrition among Rohingyas and is an effective measure of genocide.
