Myanmar’s Police arrested three innocent Rohingyas in relation to firecracker explosions in Buthidaung Township on Friday night, which the police have arbitrarily labelled as Bomb Blasts, according to the reliable sources.

The sources further say that the Chief of the Buthidaung Township Police in cooperation with the local Rakhine extremists themselves plotted the explosions of the heavy firecrackers and labelled them as a bomb blasts, which the domestic media and other Burmese Program Media abroad blatantly bought.

The three victims of the arbitrary arrests are said to be shopkeepers at the place where the explosion had occurred.

“It was around 9:00PM on Friday night, some heavy firecrackers exploded before some Rohingya owned shops at the Byuha Goong village in Ward 4, Buthidaung Township. Since they were mere firecrackers explosions, there were no naturally any injuries or casualties. (Note: Exploding even firecrackers at many parts in Myanmar are prohibited.)

Later, police arrived at the scene and they said they picked up some broken pieces of mobile phones and wires. So, they labeled it as a Bomb Blast (some kinds of bomb blasts by remote control) carried out by the local Rohingyas.

Although no Rohingya remains post 9:00PM in fear of the arrests by the police, the police subsequently arrested three Rohingyas before whose shops the explosions had occurred.

The Buthidaung Police in cooperation with the Rakhine extremists, who do not want the visiting Obama to talk anything in favor of us, together plotted the explosion with a view to linking us with the so-called militant groups in other countries or by portraying us as terrorists.

They are:

  • Ahmed Ullah (son of) Mv Yusuf, Age 32, from Ward 4, Shop- Computer Accessories, Typing and Photostat
  • Raham Ali (son of) U Basa Meah, Age 32, from Ward 4, Staff of the Shop
  • Noor Ali (son of) U Maqbool , Age 35, from Ward 7, Shop- Groceries

Also, the shops were closed at the time of firecracker explosion” said a local Rohingya in Buthidaung Township.

He continued saying “US President Barack Obama is also set to visit Myanmar soon. He is expected to talk for the rights of the persecuted Rohingyas. So, the Buthidaung Police in cooperation with the Rakhine extremists, who do not want the visiting Obama to talk anything in favor of us, together plotted the explosion with a view to linking us with the so-called militant groups in other countries or by portraying us as terrorists. It’s a conspiracy.

On the other hand, the former two arrested people in the above-mentioned list are very helpful to the Rohingya community in Buthidaung. They type and photocopy the necessary documents for the people and send email for them. Our people are benefitting from them. So, the police and Rakhines arrested these innocent people simply to cripple us further.

In simplest term, one shot, two birds!”

The three victims are now in the detention of the Buthidaung police and currently being remanded according to the police.
