Widespread Military Brutalities against Rohingya Continue

  • 25/10/2016 9 AM: Around 40 Burmese Military started raiding Long Dong Village in Maungdaw. So, they started beating people and looting shops and houses. The Rohingya villagers are living in extreme fear of ruthless military brutalities.

    During the raids conducted by the military at SinThayPyin (Haanti Fara), PanMyaing (Kappus Sor) and ZaydiPyinAuk villages yesterday, the military tortured people; looted money and properties from their homes; and bodily assaulted many Rohingya women.
  • 25/10/16 10:30 AM: 2Rohingya civilians were wounded during a random firing by Burmese military at ‘YeDwinChaung (Raimma Bil)’ village in northern Maungdaw. We are awaiting more details.
  •    25/10/16 3:00 PM: The Burmese Military arrested 2 Rohingya elders from Quarter 1 in Maungdaw. They were called to the village administrator office for a meeting and were subsequently arrested. They are U Khin Zaw and U Maung Kyaw. The reason for their arrests is still unknown.
  • 25/10/16 03:30 PM: Military once again started raiding the ‘OoKyeKyar (Burashidda Fara) village in northern Maungdaw and arrested an innocent Rohingya boy. Furthermore, they seized a motorcar from a Rohingya.
    The villagers are in extreme fear as earlier, many have been arrested, tortured and killed; and women have been raped in that village since 9th October.
