Village Head and Informer Persecute Rohingyas in Parun Chaung
Buthidaung- Village head and his informer Mohammad Saley, son of Sultan, are jointly persecuting the helpless Rohingya people in order to extort money in abundance in Parun Chaung of Buthidaung, Arakan, the suffering villagers have said.
In the morning on 17 August, a young boy named Solimulla, 8, son of Nozir Ahmad was attacked with horn by a cow and got injuries while a licensed dealer named Madu, an inhabitant of Thein Daung Pran, was bringing cattle by Angu Maw Road nearby Parun Chaung.
For that the informer, who is out of official duty, forcibly extorted 90 thousands Kyats from the dealer as the payment to the boy for treatment. Then he told that he would give 40 thousands Kyats to wounded boy’s family and the rest 50 thousands were pocketed saying that he took the amount for settling the case. But he did not control his greed and again he misappropriated more 20 thousands Kyats from 40 thousands of the victim.
The cruel informer Mohammad Saley was imprisoned for 18 months in 2008 on accuse of taking bribe by using duplicate seal of the former chairman in issuing marriage permit to the Rohingyas. After getting release from jail, he has been working as an informer of the present village head and extorting money from the poor and helpless Rohingya villagers threatening them without any reason. He shares the extorted money with the head.
The local authorities can continue persecution on Rohingyas as the Suu Kyi led government gives them freedom just like as Thein Sein one so that ethnic Rohingya will be finished one day from Arakan.
