PHANGNGA -Two more trafficked Rohingyas who were among 21 who escaped detention on May 23 have been arrested, according to media reports.
They were arrested at 9.30pm on Wednesday from a souvenir shop on Phangnga-Thap Pud road in tambon Tham Nam Phud in Muang district by Songyot Nakrit, the village chief of tambon Tham Nam Phud, and immigration police.
Twenty-one Rohingya Muslims escaped from the detention centre at the Phangnga immigration police due to the unbearable condition there. Fourteen earlier were arrested and one was killed by police who said they fired shots in self-defence.
Four of the escapees are still on the run after the re-arrests of the two on Wednesday.
