Several People Injured and Many Camps Burnt Down in Accidental Fire

Sittwe (Akyab) — A fire broke out at ‘Bodupha Camps’ for Internally displaced people (IDP) at around 8:30AM today leaving dozens of people injured and more than 60 camps burnt down.
A 12-year old psychologically abnormal child is believed to have got burnt down and died in the fire. The concerned people are in search of his dead body.
It has been learnt that the fire started from a ‘Rescue and Aid Camp’ in Bodupha village while the staffs of the camp were cooking food for lunch. And hence, the most of the camps got burnt down were the ‘Rescue and Aid Camps,).’
Initially, the IDP in the camps tried to extinguish the fire. Later, seven fire brigades arrived and joint hands with the people to extinguish the fire.
The fire was successfully put out at around 11:00AM today.
