Buthidaung: Burmese Border Guard Police (BGP) once again extorted money from a Rohingya in a village of Buthidaung Township on 7th April 2018.
Border Guard Police (BGP) from Maung Nu BGP camp arrived at the Mingissi (Mee Kyaung Zay) village tract and extorted 50000 Kyats from village admin by force.
Similar activities are also taking place in other village tracks of northern Buthidaung township, where hardly few Rohingya remains up to date.
Beside money extortion on 08 April 2018 in Khin Ga Nat, Nga Yant Chaung, Yim Ma Kyaung Taung, Khin Tha Ma, Mee Kyaung Zay and Maung Gyi Taung village tracks of Buthidaung Township Myanmar government have announced to collect family list of villages and houses which were burnt down by Armed forces since late 2017.
Tortures like money extortion, restrictions on livelihood and others have left remaining Rohingya in extreme lingering situation and such announcement adds further fear for the existing Rohingya in their own ancestral land.
