A Rohingya Muslim was allegedly attacked by some unidentified persons and threatened to leave the Jammu city on Monday, leading to registration of case by police into the incident.

Superintendent of Police (Rural-Jammu) Arun Gupta said police have registered a case against unknown persons.

“Rohingya Muslim Karimullah, a scrap dealer, has registered complaint that about 10 to 12 people came at his shop and threatened him to leave the city. We have registered a case,” said in-charge of Pouni Chak police post, Sumit Magotra.

Some reports suggested Karimullah was also thrashed by the group, though it couldn’t be confirmed officially. The unknown miscreants also reportedly ransacked his shop.
