Dubai, UAE (Rohingya Vision) – The Rohingya Federation of Arakan (RFA) has highlighted the plight of the oppressed Rohingya minority of Myanmar to the international community in the 12th edition of ‘DIHAD Conference & Exhibition – 2015’ recently held in Dubai, the Rohingya Vision Correspondent reported.

The Rohingya Federation of Arakan, a non-profit Rohingya Organization registered in UK and based in UAE, in cooperation with the Rohingya community in Dubai yesterday organized a separate press conference during the Dubai International Humanitarian Aid & Development Conference & Exhibition – DIHAD — 2015, to shed light on the extreme persecution and genocidal acts being committed against the helpless minority, Rohingya, in Myanmar (Burma) by its government in cooperation with an extremist fraction of its Buddhist Population.

Many Rohingya representatives such as the leaders, activists and scholars such as Dr. Wakar Uddin, the Director General of Arakan Rohingya Union (ARU); and from Myanmar, U Thar Aye, the Chairman of United National Development Party (UNDP) and U Adur Rashid, vice-president of National Democratic Party for Human Rights (NDPHR) and others as well as the international scholars, researchers, humanitarian workers and activists; and local authoritative figures and businessmen have attended the international exhibition as well as Rohingya Exhibition held in the city.


In the separate conference held later, the international participants observed and listened to the speeches delivered by the Rohingya panelists, observed the activities. During the press conference, the following panelists have talked on the topics mentioned respectively.

  • U Thar Aye, Chairman of United National Development Party, talked on the persecution of Rohingya and the types of systematic and organized violence; and how to get back the rights of Rohingya people.
  • Firdous Sheikh, President of Rohingya Federation of Arakan, talked on the suffering of Rohingya and the critical need of humanitarian aids.
  • U Adur Rashid, vice-president of National Democratic Party for Human Rights (NDPHR), talked on Rohingya Identity and Crisis.
  • Muhammad Noor, the Managing Director of Rohingya Vision Media, talked on the Rohingya problems, the importance of media in a society and the role of Rohingya Vision in Rohingya Community.
  • Sheikh Nurul Islam from Pakistan talked on the Unity and Collaboration among Rohingya Community.
  • Abu Reza, a member of parliament in Bangladesh and holders of many different positions in the country, talked on the role of Bangladesh as a neighbor to Myanmar as well as the Rohingya. He also talked on how the Rohingya community should lobby the Bangladesh government for its help to solve the Rohingya problems.
  • Mohammed Amin Nadawi and others touched different topics of the Rohingya problems.

Meanwhile, the international participants, the locals and authority of Dubai carefully listened to the talks on the Rohingya people and expressed their deep concerns.


The Dubai International Humanitarian Aid & Development Conference & Exhibition – DIHAD is held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President, Prime Minister of United Arab Emirates, Ruler of Dubai, supported by Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Est., the United Nations, the UAE Red Crescent Authority, International Humanitarian City, Dubai Cares and the Organisation of Islamic Conference.
