Minbya Township, Arakan state- A 55-yeard-old Rohingya man was brutally killed by unknown attackers in Minbya Township on 15th May 2014 night. Authorities are (said to be) investigating the matter, according to a local source in Minbya Township, Arakan state.
“55-yeard-old Mohammed Ismail (son of) Abdul Ghafur (father) and Mer Khatun (mother) was a local of village of Paikthay (Zaillya Fara) of Keng Sey (Haada Fara) village tract, Minbya Township. He visited his friend in the village of ThaHtayGoong (Kiyang Fara) around 5PM on 15th May 2014 since he was invited by the friend.
He was killed at the same night while he was said to be on his way back home. His dead body was found floating in the river next morning, around 9:30AM on 16th May 2014. His dead was sent to hospital for postmortem and buried afterwards” said a local Rohingya in the township.
“Some people were fishing in the river (at the night he was killed) heard some kind of sounds of blasts from a nearby place. However, they chose to ignore it thinking that they were unnecessary sounds. The man was brutally killed and his body was full of injuries. We don’t know who have killed him yet. Authority said they would investigate the case but we think either Rakhine terrorists or Hlun Htein (Security Force) killed him” he added.
