By Rohingya Vision TV Correspondents | 17th November 2017

Akyab: Battalion Commander along with military assaulted 40 Rohingya while harvesting their own cultivated crops in Akyab (Sitwe) Township on 16th November, 2017, reports sources.

At around 4 PM Battalion commander and military from camp no 354 gathered all local farmers and workers while they were harvesting their own cultivated crops in Du War Myanug village of U Yin Thar village track and tortured them inhumanely.

In their torture they used their hand and weapons and abused physically, leading to heavy injuries. They were about 40 common Rohingya fisherman and workers and are lingering with injuries in the Sakkifara (Phet Kay Pyin) Hospital.

Harvesting own crops became a crime in northern Arakan (Rakhine) since the beginning of brutal military operations. And now it seem to spread in the capital city as well, ceasing all forms of livelihood and stocking of rations in Rohingya villages.
