Kyauktaw, Arakan state– Around 8PM on 19th April, 2014, Rakhine terrorists hacked two Rohingya brothers and other 13-14 people in Punna-Gyun township as they (the brothers) were fishing in a river. Fortunately, they were able to escape the deadly attack alive. But the remaing people are still missing.
“There is a Rohingya village called Kaadi Rwa (Siddikul) under Punna-Gyun township. The village is an isolated one and hence people in the village are having serious diffilculties to their livelihoods. They are not allowed to work freely. Thus, they secretly go to fish in nearby rivers at night.
Around 8PM on 19th April 2014, two brothers were fishing in a river. Meanwhile, a group of 40-50 Rakhine terrorists armed with swords arrived at the river. The terrorists arrived fromwards Punna-Gyun. They inhumanely stroke, stabbed and hacked the two brothers. Fortunately, they managed to escape the deadly situation alive as they ran for their lives.
The two brothers are:
1) Abdullah (son of) Mukhtar Ahmed (Age 27)
2) Hafiz Ahmed (son of) Mukhtar Ahmed (Age 22).
And the village is located by the end of the territory of Kyauktaw township” said a Rohingya in the region.
“There were more people with four more peddle boats. They would be around 13-14 people. They are still missing. They might be killed by the terrorists or escaped somewhere. Please help us” he exclaimed.
