Buthidaung, Arakan (Rohingya Vision) — Some Rohingya loggers (lumberjacks) in Buthidaung Township witnessed many Rakhine extremists taking part in the militant training being carried out amidst the jungles in the township, according to the reliable sources.
It was on Wednesday late night that the some Rohingya loggers saw around 200 Rakhine militants were participating in the battle trainings in the jungles located to the northwest of a Rakhine hamlet called ‘Aaga Pyan (also known as Dolu Fara)’ of ‘King chaung’ village tract.
“Some Rohingya loggers witnessed around 200 Rakhine extremists carrying out militant trainings in the jungles of ‘King Chaung’ village tract on March 4 late night. The extremists came to know about that. Therefore, from the next morning, the extremists and some local Rakhines started prohibiting all Rohingya loggers in the region from going to the forest for logging” said a local man in the region on the condition of anonymity.
“The Rohingya loggers were hired by a Captain of Border Guard Police in the region for logging in the forest. Therefore, the Myanmar government will highly likely have information about the militant trainings. They may be the militants from Arakan Liberation Army (ALA) and their new recruits from the region.
Hence, the local Rohingyas are worried due to possible attacks on them by the militants in the future” he continued.
