Pauktaw, Arakan State (Rohingya Vision) — A pregnant Rohingya woman died due to the lack of medical access in Pauktaw Township last Thursday.
The victim is identified to be Mrs. Salima Khatun Lukhman, 39, an internally displaced woman that had lived in ‘Nget Chaung’ IDP camp in Pauktaw before her unfortunate demise.
As she passed away on October 8, she left her five children behind.
Since the expulsion of the internal aids groups and medical workers a state-sponsored violent Rakhine mob in March 2014, many Rohingyas especially children and pregnant have lost their lives. They have been deprived of the right to get medication in government hospitals and there are no private hospitals.
Besides, there have been incidences where Rakhine doctors or Rakhine nurses have even killed the Rohingya patients that got admissions to the hospitals through many difficulties.
