One Dead in a Road Accident at Leda Makeshift Camp

Cox’s Bazaar: A road accident at Leda left makeshift camp left the driver dead on 3rd November 2018, after deadly clashing with another vehicle, reports a Rohingya.

At around 12 PM, a vehicle lost the break at a high speed and clashed with another vehicle on the same road, leaving the driver dead immediately on the scene.

Besides the local Bangladeshi driver , none other Rohingya sheltering at the makeshift camp of Leda was injured.

Following the accident, nearby Rohingya came in rescue and they could not save the driver. Later Bangladeshi authorities arrived and inspected the incident.

The roads in the makeshift camps are very narrow and their conditions are at the worst stage, which the sheltering Rohingya described.

“Although none were killed today, the earlier many Rohingya were killed in road accident, especially children who have no other space than roads to play in these camps,” explains a sheltering Rohingya from Leda.

Rohingya are battling with almost every aspect of human needs and these types of tragic incidences are further pushing them towards their safety in these congested camps of Cox’s Bazaar, Bangladesh.
