The Myanmar Security Force Raided the Rohingya Concentration Camps at Dar Paing village in Sittwe Township yesterday under the pretext of seeking out the hiding militants and the hidden drugs, according to the internally displaced Rohingyas in the region.
However, contrary to the allegations, there were neither hiding militants nor the hidden drugs found in the camps, the reports say.
“Around 500 Security Police Force (Hlun Htein) with 36 trucks arrived at the Rubber Gwin (Rubber Field) Rohingya Concentration Camps at Dar Paing village in Sittwe (also known as Akyab) Township around 6:00AM yesterday. They accused that there were many armed militants hiding and the drugs in the camps. They entered, raided and thoroughly searched camp by camp.
No militant was found. No such drugs were there. They were pure accusations. We don’t know why they did this. Since the internally displaced Rohingyas cooperated with the police, the search completed peacefully” said a displaced Rohingya.
“But the police confiscated some kitchen knives and sticks found in the camps” he added.
