Buthidaung, Arakan State (Rohingya Vision) – Myanmar’s Police arrested eight Rakhine men in Buthidaung Township on Tuesday morning for unknown reasons, the reliable sources said.

A team of police personnel from Buthidaung Police station raided tea-shops, homes and streets in the downtown of Buthidaung and arrested at least eight Rakhine men.

“We don’t know why they were arrested and who they were. The local people are of the opinions that they might be somehow linked with the Rakhine militant groups like Arakan Liberation Army (ALA) and Arakan Army (AA). Recently, there were fighting between Myanmar’s Military and Rakhine Militants.

It maybe because of the other cases as well! But we don’t know exactly” said an eyewitness in Buthidaung.

In a separate incident yesterday evening around 4:00PM, about 13 Rakhine extremist youths on a White Van drove around the downtown of Buthidaung and sang the national anthem of Myanmar an abusive manner to instigate hatred against the Rohingya Muslims.

“ကမၻာမေက် ျမန္မာျပည္၊ သတၲဝါ ကုလား

ေတြ တို႔ျပည္က ထြက္ေျပး……

Till the end of the world, Myanmar! (Until the world ends up shattering, long live Burma!)

Animal *Kulars or Animal Like Kulars

Get lost from our Land… etc…

They also drove around Rohingya quarters in the township and abused the local s with their distorted and abusive version of the national anthem. Afterwards, they left the place” ” said the eyewitness.

*Kulars= a derogatory term used against the people of Indian descends in Myanmar. Since 2012, it has been notoriously used to target especially Muslims of Indian (Indo-Aryan) origin.
