Maung Daw, Arakan: Around 6AM on 16th November 2013, a few Myanmar Military personnel from Light Infantry Unit at KayeMyaing under the battalion 352 based in southern Maung Daw shot down an innocent Rohingya at the village of Nurullah of Baggona village tract, southern Maungdaw.
“At 6AM on 16th November 2013, Shomsul Alam @Kyaw Maung (son of) Abul Kasim (Age 35) was crossing the Maungdaw-AlayThanKyaw road to go to the farm lands at the other (western) side of road in order to catch birds. (And this is his livelihood.) Meanwhile, he happened to see some military chasing some under-age young Rohingya girls who were going to other villages to sell vegetables. (The military always loot their vegetables and often harass the them).
Military suddenly started firing at him and one bullet hit his thigh. He is now injured severely and admitted to Maungdaw General Hospital with the reference of the military.
The reason why the Military shot at him is not known yet. It might be because either he saw the military looting and harrasing the said girls or it was merely for their target shooting.
The military came from the Light Infantry Unit at the village of KayeMyaing (nerby Nurullah village) under the battalion 352 based in southern Maung Daw” said elderly Rohingya in a nearby village.
