Myanmar Border Police Force Severely Torture Two Rohingya Passers-By

Maungdaw, Arakan state– After Rakhine extremists with some Myanmar Government Agencies had spread *RSO propaganda, Rakhine Police got a license to harass, torture, detain and even kill Rohingyas under any arbitrary accusation, according to a local of Maungdaw. On 25th May 2014, Border Security Police (Nay Cha Saung Htet Phwe) at Kyein Chaung in northern Maungdaw inhumanely tortured two Rohingya passers-by for money. On 29th May 2014 as well, a 10-year-old Rohingya boy was beaten by Border Security Police (Nay Cha Saung Htet Phwe) in southern Maungdaw. And atrocities are taking place daily.
“There is a Check-Post of Border Police Force at the bazaar of Kyein Chaung (Bawli Bazaar), northern Maungdaw. Around 4:00PM on 25th May 2014, two Rohingyas hail from the village of Italia (Hettalia-Naitordil), Maungdaw, were passing through the check-post to visit their relatives in the village. Meanwhile, Commander of the check-post, a lieutenant Police (name unidentified), stopped them. He searched their bodies but didn’t find anything illegal in them.
However, the lieutenant police himself put some Yaba Tablets in their pockets. Then, he accused them of being drug peddlers and having connections with *RSO and arrested them. Afterwards, he brutally beat them and struck their leg bones with an iron rod. Consequently, they received severe injuries and were unable to move. They are:
1) Amir Hussain (son of) Noor Hussain (of Age 40)
2) Jani Alam (son of) Abdullah (of Age 11)” said an eye-witness.
“U Zubair, ex-chairman of Kyein Chaung, released them on a bail of Kyat 330,000 around 10:00PM of the day. After *RSO propaganda had started to spread, it became like Rakhine Police got a license to harass, torture and kill Rohingyas under any arbitrary accusation” he added.
Similarly, around 11:30AM on 29th May 2014, a 10-yeard-old Rohingya boy, Mohammed Anis (son of) Hussein Ahmed hail from the village of Gawduthara, southern Maungdaw, was on his way to the downtown of Maungdaw with some prawns on an auto trishaw. The auto trishaw was stopped by the newly encamped Border Security Police (Hlun Htein) at BEPS (Basic Education Primary School) of Nurullah village of Baggona village tract. They seized his 0.5 Kg of Tiger Prawns. Besides, they also beat up the young boy” said a Rohingya passer-by that witnessed the incident.

*RSO= Rohingya Solidarity Organization RSO is a former Rohingya armed group that has been disbanded long ago. Bangladesh government has officially announced that it is no longer existent today. Now, Rakhine extremists and Myanmar Government have started to spread propaganda that RSO (Rohingya Solidarity Organization), is attacking Myanmar Border Guards and trying to invade Myanmar so as to be able to kill even more innocent Rohingyas.
