Monks Tortured, Looted & Illegally Extorted Money from A Rohingya Driver

Buthidaung: Extremists Buddhist Monks looted a Rohingya’s CNG vehicle and illegally extorted a huge sum to return it, after torturing the driver inhumanely in Buthidaung Township on 19th September 2018, reports a local.

A Rohingya CNG vehicle driver was tortured inhumanely at ward five of Buthidaung market and was forced to pay money to three extremist monks.

Three monks hired a Rohingya’s CNG vehicle to travel to the market in ward five from ward two of Buthidaung downtown.

After reaching the station, when the Rohingya driver asked his payment, he was beaten inhumanely by the monks and they also looted his vehicle.

Later, to get his vehicle back, he was forced to pay 1200, 000 Kyats to the extremist’s Monks. The victim was identified to be a son of Hamid Hussain, hailing from ward two of Buthidaung Township.

These sorrowful incidents have increased the level of fear for the remaining Rohingya in northern Buthidaung and they urged for international security in the state.

Since late 2017 nearly 800, 000 Rohingya was forced out of their own land by the Burmese genocidal forces and now further plans are seen in execution to wipe out the remaining Rohingya.
