Military Destroys more Rohingya villages in Maungdaw and Rathedaung

More Rohingya Villages have been destroyed by Burmese military in Maungdaw and Rathedaung, according to reports from eye witnesses.

Some recent updates are as follows:

8/11/16 11 AM: The Burmese troops besieged Baggona East hamlet and conducting raids at it since 7:30 AM. They are plundering and destroying Rohingya properties. The troops rounded up all the women at one place and torturing them. Due to the tortures, one woman is reported to have died. Awaiting detail.

8/11/16 11 AM: During raids at the Middle hamlet (Rassa Fara) of Baggona village tract yesterday, Burmese troops and Rakhine extremists completely plundered some homes.

8/11/16 12 noon: The Burmese troops are demanding the Rohingya women they rounded up at Baggona since 7:30AM to make their men present before them (troops). Else, they will torture the women even more and completely burn down their homes.

8/11/16 12:30 PM: “The Burmese troops are launching wars on us as if they are fighting with a big nation. Now, started at Baggona village” said a Rohingya trapped in heavy Burmese military assaults.

8/11/16 11AM: 13 Rohingya civilians were arrested by the Burmese army during yesterday’s raids at KoeTanKauk IDP Camps in Rathedaung. Details will be published soon. The Burmese Army is using some Rakhine extremists against the Rohingya Civilians by providing them army uniforms.

“During the raid, they were able to recognize some troops in uniform are actually Rakhine civilians. If it’s happening here, it could happen all over” said a Rohingya IDP at KoeTanKauk.

7/11/16 08:00 PM: A hostel (for teachers) burnt down at Myint Hlut located within the premise of the BGP headquarter of Commandment region 8. There are heavy presence of both military and Border Guard Police. No chance for outsiders to be able to have torched this.

7/11/16 11:00 PM: The Battalion commander came to know his subordinates torched the hostel in Myint Hlut. Hence, they are now clearing the ashes. On the other hand, some troops and BGP are conducting raids at ZumKhara hamlet of Myint Hlut and chasing its villagers to arrest. The villagers are fleeing in fear.

7/11/16 11:00 PM: The Police questioned the 13 people arrested at KoeTanKauk in Rathedaung yesterday especially regarding the writers of the banners that they held to protest during the visit of the UN-led diplomats.

7/11/16 10:00 PM: Nyaung Chaung (Haadir Bil) village in Maungdaw is under siege of the Burmese troops again.It was besieged and plundered at the day time, too.

7/11/16 12:00 AM: The Burmese army arbitrarily arrested 4 Rohingya civilians at TeenGojjaFara hamlet of Nondaa Hali, Maungdw. One is a local of the village, Jafar s/o Aaji, 40, a mentally challenged person. And others are still unidentified

7/11/16 08:00 AM: The Maungdaw police arrived at the residence of Mohammed Shuaib, the administrator of DuNyaungPinGyi along with him. They searched his house. Nothing illegal was found. But the police brought some illegal medicines and syringes from elsewhere and photograph them along with him. And then police took him back to the Maungdaw police detention. Besides, the police looted golds and money by breaking cupboards at his home. He was earlier was arrested on November 5.

7/11/16 08:00 PM: 2 Rohingya civilians are arrested by the Burmese army for having Kitchen Knives at their homes in Thawan Chaung (Bossara). They are identified to be Abu Sayed & Noor Alam.
