Maung Daw, Arakan- Yesterday (i.e. 16th May 2013) afternoon, four Rohingyas were found dead at the coastline by the village of Merullah (Myin-Hlut), under NaSaKa (Border Security Force) Commandement Area (8), southern Maung Daw. The dead bodies were identified as of one man, two women and one child. The local Rohingyas suspect them to be from among those Rohingyas died in the boat accident in Pauk Taw Township last Monday.
“There were four corpses: one man, two women and one child. They might be from those victims who died in the boat accident in Pauktaw Township last Monday. They might be floating in the sea all these days and finally made their way to the coast of Merullah. NaSaKa didn’t allow them to be buried with dignity but drifted way further into sea” sadly said a nearby villager.
“These displaced people were leaving their camps located at a low land in Pauktaw ahead of the storm. They had to leave secretly at night because of the fear of the government and Rakhine extremists who were not allowing them to go the safe places. Government asked them to go more dangerous places nearby the sea. That’s why they refused to go there. Or else, who do not want to live?” he continued.
Besides, all the displaced Rohingyas moved from the camps of Nget Chaung to that of Sandama (Sin Tet Maw) in Pauktaw Township ahead of the storm. They are unable to go back. And they are living under critically bad condition with no food and shelter. Therefore, a displaced Rohingya requested (on behalf of the all displaced Rohingyas) to International Humanitarian Organizations and NGOs to give more attentions towards their crises.
