Four Rohingya Children Die as Sailboat Capsizes in Kyauktaw

Kyauktaw, Arakan (Rohingya Vision) – Four Rohingya school-going children were killed as their sailboat capsized in the river in Kyauktaw Township yesterday.
The tragic incident took place around 9:45AM yesterday as 25 students from Kaadi village were going to their school in ‘Than Taung (Sainda Fara)’ village by a sailboat.
“The waves in the river were high. Meanwhile, a Rakhine owned motorboat negligently travelling at a very high speed nearby caused the sailboat with the students totally overturned. All of the 25 students on the sailboat got drown.
Four of them, who were children, met with untimely demises” said a local Rohingya in Kyauktaw quoting to a statement by a survivor of the unfortunate accident.
The four children killed in the accident are:
