Dhaka – Dhaka wants to resolve the refugee crisis that unfolded between Bangladesh and Myanmar as hundreds of thousands of Rohingya Muslims fled violence in Myanmar for safety in the last three months.
“We want to resolve the crisis keeping the good relations with the neighbour,” she said Sunday in Dhaka referring to an agreement Bangladesh has signed last week with Myanmar for repatriation of the Rohingya who crossed the border since October 2016.
Bangladesh has garner unequivocal support from the international community over the refugee crisis, Hasina said adding that it was a great success for Bangladesh’s diplomacy.
An estimated 620,000 Rohingya Muslims crossed into Bangladesh after Myanmar army launched clampdown against suspected Rohingya insurgents blamed for carrying out attacks on security posts in Rakhine state on August 25.
