KARACHI: Former federal minister for human rights Ansar Burney has said that the Ansar Burney Trust International has grave concern on the reports on Rohingya girls who were taken hostage at human-trafficking camps in the neighbouring countries of Myanmar and have been gang raped by their traffickers.

In a press release on Thursday, Burney said that as per reports survivors of the horrible experience of rape said young women would be dragged away at night from the jungle camps, which lie near Padang Besar in Thailand, to a place where they would be gang raped by the guards. Similar crimes were taking place at nearby camps on the Malaysian side of the Thai border.

The discovery of human-trafficking camps and mass graves in the past few months sent shock-waves in Southeast Asia, triggering a crackdown on smugglers and human traffickers by Thai and Malaysian authorities.

Burney requested the general public to support and help Ansar Burney Trust to help crying humanity and send Zakat and Donations at 6-Hassan Manzil, Arambagh Road, Karachi. Phone (021) 32623382 Mobile 03000602202.
