Maungdaw: Burmese Navy shot dead an innocent Rohingya and labelled him as a member of Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) along with detaining another Bangladeshi on 4th January 2018, report sources.
Both the youths were common traders trading with the Moghs (Rakhines) and Hindus with Bangladeshi goods. At the time of shoot they both were on a boat carrying goods and as soon as the Navy’s gaze fell on the boat, they started random firing on them killing the Rohingya youth who jumped into the water. He was identified to be S/O Moloi Jaber hailing from Kuirhali village of Maungdaw Township. The other youth was a Bangladeshi who was detained.
Immediately after killing the innocent youth, he was labelled as a member of Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) from the Burma’s state counselor’s office which they have been doing with any Rohingya after they are detained or killed by the Burmese Authorities.
Earlier on 26th December 2017, at 10 AM two fishing boats were also shot and seized by the Burmese Navy. The boat carried 6-7 Rohingya fishermen where their identification and fate is yet unknown.
