Burmese Military Beat Rohingyas for Ransom

Maungdaw, Arakan State (Rohingya Vision) – The Burmese military in northern Maungdaw Township beat local Rohingya people daily for ransom, according to the local sources.
The military oppressing the people belong to the sentry camp nearby the Border Plate No. 43 along the fence with Bangladesh border under the battalion 564 in northern Maungdaw. The main culprit responsible for the atrocities such as arbitrary beatings of the locals and extorting money from them is the deputy commander of the battalion and in-charge of the sentry post, Captain Aung Kyaw Soe.
Recently, the military captain has arrested Mohammed Nabi Sultan Ahmed hails from ‘Kyaun Htoo’ village accusing him of clearing bushes on his (the Rohingya man’s) land without taking permission from him (the captain). He detained the Rohingya far at his camp where he was beaten all the night for ransom. The next morning, he released the Rohingya man after extorting Kyat 50,000.
He has been committing similar other atrocities against the locals daily making their lives extremely to live.
