Burmese Joint Forces Arrest Four Innocents, Besiege Village

Buthidaung: Burmese army and Border Guard Police (BGP) once again besieged a Rohingya village in northern Buthidaung and arrested four innocent Rohingya by their usual false accusations, torturing them badly along with other villagers on 24th August 2018.

Four Rohingya hailing from Pyan Zi village, Bada Ga village tract were returning to their village and on their way, they were caught by a group of the army along with BGP and extremist Moghs (Rakhine).

Immediately after seeing the group, four of them fled to save them from their usual arbitrary arrests and tortures.

Following that, the same group arrived and besieged the village from all directions and accused them as members of the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA).

Then they started raiding all Rohingya houses and tortured villagers severely and asked for the four Rohingyas whom they chased.

In their raid, they also fired bullets in the air to threaten the villagers further.

Due to the intolerable torturing of villagers and gunfire, terrified villagers had to hand over the four innocents to the brutal forces.

Four of them were arrested and were beaten inhumanely in front of the entire villagers and were taken to Taungbazaar BGP camp later.

Locals could not identify the BGP and Moghs (Rakhine), but they identified the military, who belonged to nearby 535 battalions.

Lives on the remaining Rohingya are becoming intolerable day by day and they believe if these situations continue further they cannot survive and will be forced to travel towards Bangladesh.
