Burmese Forces Demolished A Religious Structure in Minbya

Minbya: Burmese brutal forces demolished a Mosque, which was reconstructed after 2012 state sponsored violence in Minbya Township on 8th March 2017, reported a villager.

A mosque in Sambilifara village have been demolished by the authorities at day light infront of the entire villagers.

Earlier in 2012 state sponsored violence Sambilifara Village of Minbya Township have been totally torched. There along with houses this mosques was also torched down.

Later villagers raised funds from locals to rebuild the Mosque. In continuation of the process the Mosque’s construction work was started. Almost everything was build including roofs, doors, windows,etc.

“This is not the first time Burmese forces are conducting such illegal activity. They have done this in other Townships such as Akyab, Kyauktaw, Maungdaw, Buthidaung, etc” complains a villager.

Demolishing religious structures anytime and anywhere is a usual illegal activity in Arakan (Rakhine) that have been going on since decades. And wiping out Religious structure is another tool to wipe off evidences of Rohingya’ existence in the soil of Arakan (Rakhine).
