According to his mother’s testimony, he was out for his usual livelihood activity, where he was called in a Police post and tortured in a very inhumane way. After torturing to the extent of their wish, they abandoned him on a nearby road, from where locals rescued him.
“They broke the bone on his waist and now he is unable to even stand,” says his mother in a testimonial video.
Due to the critical injuries all over his body, he is unable to talk and explain what actually happened with him further.
The incident took place at Chantoli area of Akyab (Sittwe) Township and his body was recovered at around 4:00 AM.
The victim was identified to be Jomir Hussain S/O Noor Salaam and is in need of immediate healthcare.
According to his mother, they can only have a meal when he is able to ride his rickshaw but now his wife, children, and mother are extremely worried about the coming starving situation.
This is not a new scene for the Rohingyas in Akyab Township, even after confining them in the concentration camps since the state-sponsored violence of 2012, Rohingyas are either tortured or harassed on daily basis.
