Maungdaw: Burmese military arbitrarily arrested 8 Rohingya Youth and students from the Village of Chalifarang (Myawtaung) villages of northern Maungdaw on 13th October, 2017, reports locals from the crime scene.
A group of Military arrived in the area of Chalifarang (Myawtaung) villages and arrested the 8 youths and students. Later military took them to the village school and stationed for a while. From there they were taken to the BGP camp in Rohingyadong village. The victims are identified to be:
- Anwar S/o Sayed Basher (23)
- Salimullah S/o Shukkur (17)
- Jani Alam S/o Dil muhammed (16) – Student of 9th grade
- Farok S/o Kamal (15) – Student of 8th grade
- Shamsul Alam S/O hussain Ahmed (18)
- Shabul Karim S/O Shamshu (18)
- Shobu Alam S/O Abdu Salam (18)
- Saifuddin S/O Shamshu (18)
During their patrolling they fired heavily in the air and threaten Rohingya civilians severely and the firing continued for the whole night, leaving Rohingyas in extremely terrified situation.
Today (14th October, 17) a joint group of military and BGP since early morning arrived in Dar Paingsara of Northern Buthidaung Township and conducted Illegal check in their sudden raids.
The group consisted of 100 Military and BGP officials, where they threatened and abused the remaining Rohingyas in their raiding hours that lasted from 10 AM to 01 PM, reports local Rohingyas.
Arbitrary arrest and illegal raids on Rohingya villages are driving the remaining Rohingyas to leave their ancestral land. Latest report confirms more than 800, 000 Rohingyas lingering in the makeshifts refugee camps of Bangladesh.
