LAHORE: A multi-party conference held here on Wednesday urged the Muslim countries to set up a ‘brotherhood fund’ to help the Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar, while foreign ministers of the Organisation of Islamic Conference should plan a joint strategy to rescue them from the oppression of Buddhist monks.

It also appealed to the governments of Bangladesh, Indonesia and Malaysia to offer refuge to the Rohingyas.

Participants urged Islamabad to convene a world donors’ conference for the financial support of the Rohingya Muslims.

The conference attended by politico-religious parties and representatives of civil society organisations also condemned Indian leadership’s provocative statements and criticised New Delhi for committing atrocities against the Kashmiris.

It demanded that the UN get its resolutions on Kashmir implemented at the earliest for the sake of regional and world peace.
