Breaking News: More than 20 Rohingya Shops Burn Down in Northern Maungdaw

Maungdaw, Arakan– More than 20 Rohingya shops got burnt down in the fire took place at the market of Kyauk Hle Gha (Daar Goa Dil) in northern Maungdaw. The fire started at around 11:00PM on 4th June 2014 and it was extinguished around 3:00AM on 5th June 2012.
“Around 11:00PM on 4th June 2014, market at a Rohingya village called of Kyauk Hle Gha (Daar Goa Dil) caught fire. What caused the fire is not known yet. More than 20 Shops at the northern row at the western part of the market got burnt down. The shops that turned into ashes are all Rohingya shops.
Some people were able to save some goods and stuffs from some shops. The villagers came out in crowd and managed to extinguish the fire at around 3:00AM. No fire brigade arrived at the place to put out the fire” said local of the village.
