Border Guard Police Arrest Two Rohingya Civilians Labelling as Militants
By Rohingya Eye │ RVision TV News
Maungdaw – The Burmese Border Guard Police (BGP) arrested two innocent Rohingya civilians at Kyikanpyin (Hawar Bil) village in Maungdaw around 4 PM yesterday, whom were arbitrarily labelled as militants, a local reported.
The two men were arrested by the BGP on their way back from a nearby mountain having herded their buffaloes and also collected firewood. The victims have been identified to be ‘Shomsul Alam (son of) Mahmud Hussain, 34; and ….. (son of) Zafar, 29.’
“They have a knife to each of their own. The knives are normally used by firewood collectors to cut plants and bushes. Just because of that, the BGP are planning to label them as militants”, said a villager in Kyikanpyin.
Currently, they are detained and being tortured in the BGP Headquarter in Kyikanpyin.
Hundreds of innocent civilians have been arbitrarily arrested and detained since October 9 on pretext of crackdowns on the alleged militants in the region.
