BGP Tortured a Rohingya to Death in Imprisonment

By Rohingya Vision TV Correspondent | 25th December 2017

Buthidaung: An Innocent Rohingya detained by Border Guard police (BGP) died yesterday (24th December 2017) in a Village in Buthidaung Township after lingering with the injuries due to the inhumane tortures for 6 months in the detention, reports a family member.

A Rohingya detainee named Muhammed Siddique, 65 was admitted to the Buthidaung General hospital on 20th December 2017 by the authorities in chained condition. Due to deep internal and external injuries of the Authorities’ inhumane torture treatment could not cure him and he passed away at 2 AM on 24th December 2017.

Later at 4:45 Am his dead body was dumped in a pit in Immamuddinfara (Way Ma) village instead of handing to the family for proper funeral.

The victim was an innocent Rohingya hailing from the Tinn Set village of Sein Yein pya village track, who was arrested along with 4 other Rohingyas on false pretext at 10 Am on 21st June 2017. On that day 2 Border Guard Police (BGP) from the camp of Yaung Chaung arrived along with their commander to arrest those innocents on baseless allegations.

Muhammed is not the first detainee who died due to the unbearable inhumane tortures of the Authorities. Many more innocent Rohingyas have paid the cost of living in their own ancestral land and many more are yet to be added to the death toll under the watch of a so called democratic government.
