Maungdaw: Village chairman Along with BGP imposed Rohingyas to forced labor on 15th July 2016, in Nakhaindiya village, Kying Daing Village track of Alay Than, Southern Maungdaw.
In the incident village chairman is forcing the villagers including old and children since last three days for their work to vacant a large ship filled with heavy wooden blocks, which arrived from Tongo Township.
Moreover labors were asked to be paid from the Forestry department, which they handed over to the village chairman Ibrahim S/O Jafar Ahmed. But up till now none were paid and due to the fear of BGP nobody is even allowed to leave the work.
Poor Rohingya villagers are in fear and starving situation, as they are not even able to feed their families. Situation is worsening day by day as they are uncertain about the period of forced laboring imposed on them.
Forced labor by military and BGP is a common persecution in Arakan, where innocent Rohingyas are scapegoated daily.
