Baseless Allegation of Bangladeshi media, over the arrest of Humanitarian workers
A BANGLADESHI MEDIA KNOWN AS DAILY STAR HAS FALSELY ACCUSED RHINGAYAS OF DIFFERENT BASELESS ISSUES OVER THE ARREST OF THREE HUMANITARIAN WORKERS BY BGB (Border Guard Police).
Bangladesh – Bangladeshi media known as Daily Star have accused various baseless allegations over persecuted Rohingyas whom are taking sheltering in UN registered camps in Bangladesh over the arrest of three humanitarian workers.
The victims are identified to be Ahmed Saleh – a Saudi national, Hafez Salaul Islam – a Rohingya and Moulavi Ibrahim – A Bangladeshi, whom were arrested from Teknaf by BGB with false accusation of holding a secret meeting.
Bangladeshi Medias are accusing victim Hafez Salaul Islam as a separatist RSO leader, who is an innocent Religious teacher in reality.
Organization known as RSO (Rohingya Solidarity Organization) have been long back uprooted, where no evidence of existence have been found and many international renowned reporters, journalists and Bangladesh Border guard authorities quoted on the fake existence of RSO.
“Rohingya militancy is a myth,” said Bertil Lintner, a journalist and author who has covered Myanmar for 30 years.
Even though the RSO posed no real military threat, it provided a pretext to “squeeze and oppress Rohingya communities”, said Matthew Smith of Fortify Rights, a Bangkok-based rights group.
Even in recent year 2014, Myanmar authorities were harassing Rohingyas with the name of RSO. “The authorities are conducting violent spot checks and accusing villagers of involvement with RSO, dragging men off and forcing others to flee,” said Smith.
Some Bangladeshi Medias are instigating till today using the name of RSO a tool, and mentioning innocent Rohingyas as “separatist” to serve the interest of Mough and Burmese agendas of fading out the Plight of Rohingya and to portray a negative image of Rohingyas in front of international communities.
Moreover the baseless allegations can’t be verified from any angle because a persecuted nation like “Rohingya”, whom are persecuted for 6 decades since the military rule where they are forced to live in concentration camp within the country and as refugees in exile.
“Rohingya is one of the most persecuted minority on earth” quoted by UN and many NGOs like Amnesty International. So the question arises here how can a most persecuted nation be a part of separatist movement?
Instead of explaining the factual issues like torture, corruption and abuses going on there in the registered camps on Rohingyas Medias like above are just being bias to the Burma’s abusive politics and are scapegoating Rohingyas to safe guard their bilateral relationship with Burma.
Moreover mentioning Rohingya “Refugees” with other inappropriate words clicks to the dirty intentions of some of the Bangladeshi Medias, where Bangladesh seems cooperative to some extent towards the Rohingya Plight.
