Bangladeshi gangster kidnapped a Rohingya refugee from Kutupalong camps for ransom money, a reliable source reports

Cox’s Bazaar — A local Bangladeshi gangster and his henchmen kidnapped a refugee from Kutupalong Camps at Ukhiya area in Cox’s Bazaar district on March 13, 2016.
“The victim kidnapped around 7:00PM on his way to forest for collecting firewood was tortured and forced by the gang leader to pay ransom money for release,” said an eyewitness in the camps.
The victim is identified to be Sayedul Amin (son of) Abdullah, 35, an unregistered refugee at Block D4 in Kutupalong Refugee Camps, Bangladesh.
The gangster going by the name ‘Shah Jahan’ hailing from ‘Poliya Para, in Ukhiya area has similar records of kidnappings and money extortions from the Rohingya refugees in the area.
“Although some local gangsters and hooligans always target Rohingya refugees for money extortions and rape their women, the local authorities to take actions against the atrocities,” said Mukhtar, a Rohingya living in Cox’s Bazaar.
