Buthidaung: Burmese authorities persisted scapegoating innocent Rohingya shopkeepers in Buthidaung market daily by their force, fierce and harassments in extracting money,  complains local shop owners on 25th November 2017.

At around 2 AM 5 police members from the police station of Buthidaung entered Dabaing Sha Ra village track and called a Rohingya identified to be Mujib Ullah S/O Habibullah. Later their harassment and torture forced him to pay 310000 Kyats over his release.

“On daily basis shop owners in Buthidaung Market are harassed and tortured to extort money. And Police, anti-human trafficking authorities along with Mogh (Rakhine) are conducting these inhuman atrocities” explains a shop owner pondering over the inhumane situation.

Livelihood and lives of the few remaining Rohingyas have made Arakan (Rakhine) state an open prison, where innocents are scapegoated in every possible to pay the cost of living in their own ancestral land.
