Authorities Arbitrarily Arrest Rohingyas in different Townships

Arakan: Burmese Authorities arbitrarily arrested 3 religious teacher in Minbya Township and Military arrested another Rohingya fisherman in Maungdaw Township on 19th October, 2017, report sources from different townships.

Authorities arrived in the area on Hottifarang (Thessi) Village of Minbya Township and gathered all Religious teachers in the poilce station. Later they started illegal investigation on them and arrested 3 Rohingya Religious teachers by accusing falsely. Victims are identified to be:

  1. Fazel S/O Nur Fazel, 28
  2. Mahabui S/O Mahadadolot, 23
  3. Abdu hakim S/O Abdu hommbol, 23

Similar incidence took place in Burashiddafara (Oo kya kar) Village of Maungdaw Township, where military from 551 battalion arrived in the village and arrested a fisherman named to Huhammed Hashim S/O Halussha. According to locals he was a local fisherman and earns his livelihood through fishing. Later he was taken to the Military camp was tortured inhumanely leading to heavy injuries and was heard to be imprisoned soon, says his family in extremely terrified situations.

Arbitrary arrest and physical tortures on the remaining Rohingyas in Arakan are forcing them to leave their ancestral land and are lingering heavily for all humanitarian needs in the trapped situations created by the so called democratic government.
