Army Stage Drama of Finding Weapons in Rohingya Village

Maungdaw – The Burmese army staged a drama around 2:00 PM yesterday that they found weapons hidden beneath the ground of an abandoned Rohingya home at WaPeik (WaBaik) village in Maungdaw Township, a reliable source reported.
The Burmese army filmed the whole event of the uncovering the weapons from the underground (that too, from a depth of merely half a foot beneath) and also called up a Rohingya man from Kyikanpyin to witness the event.
“This is purely a case of staging a fake event just to accuse us of possessing weapons. There are reports floating around that the foreign diplomats that visited the region asked the authorities to restore the villagers of WaPeik to their original homes in the village.
“Therefore, when the army can claim that they find weapons in the village (by any means), they can permanently remove the villagers from their homes. That’s their plan”, said a villager in Kyikanpyin.
As expected, quoting the state-owned newspaper the The Global New Light of Myanmar, the Ministry of Information (MOI) portal run by the neo-nazi propaganda machine, U Zaw Htay, claimed that the troops found weapons in the WaPeik.
Three fourth of the WaPeik village have been razed by the Burmese military since October 9. The villagers, deeply in trouble with the shortage of foods due to military lockdown, are currently seeking refuge in the neighboring regions.
