A Rakhine Terrorist Arrested by Police and Security Force in Northern Maungdaw

Maungdaw, Arakan- A Rakhine terrorist and member of Arakan Liberation Party (ALP) was arrested by Maungdaw Police and Security Force in northern Maungdaw on 8th December 2013.

“Maungdaw Police (in charge of regional security) and Hlun Htein (Security Force) (of former NaSaKa Commandement Area 6) arrested a Rakhine terrorist in the village Kaying-Chaung of Labbaw Za (Aarossha Fara) village tract, northern Maungdaw, on 8th December 2013 evening. One latest 16-round pistol, some magazines of bullets and a few grenades were consfiscatede from the terrorist. As he was investigated, he said he, Tun Aung Zan (son of) Aung Tun Kyaw with National ID Card Number is “11/KaPhaNa (Naing) 004538, is a member of Arakan Liberation Party (ALP) and a local of Kyaukphyu Township” said a elderly Rohingya from a nearby village.

“ALP plays a major role in the violence against Rohingyas in Arakan. At the same time, they are conspiring against the government of Myanmar as well. And the robbers who often carry out robberies in Rohingya houses in northern Maungdaw are also members of ALP” he added.
