Buthidaung: Burmese brutal forces jailed 1458 innocents in Buthidaung Township with different false accusation since 25th August 2017 and they are under tremendous physical along with mental abuses in the jail, reports a local on 11th September 2018.

From total 1458 Rohingya, 1175 are male and other remaining are females. Among the 102 female, there are girls as young as 22 years.

The jailed Rohingya hails from both Maungdaw and Buthidaung Township and are not allowed to meet with any of their family and relatives.

In the jail, Rohingyas are treated in very inhumane ways, where they are forced to work all day without food, drink and rest.

For females, even cases of rapes were reported. Accounts of rapes in the jail by Burmese forces and Moghs (Rakhines) are heard to be taking place in silence.

All these cases go unverified and unreported as hardly any evidence or information are allowed to reach to the public.

A slight glimpse of the ongoing crimes in the jails is only heard from the victims’ relatives, who managed to bribe the authorities and meet the victims for a very short period of time.
